Dark spots : 3 steps to treat them

EQlib answers your questions on darks spots.
“Hello this is Hélène from EQlib. Today I’m talking about the three essential steps to treat and reduce dark spots and prevent new ones from appearing.

How and why do spots appear? First of all, it depends on your lifestyle. Are you out a lot? A lot indoors with halogens? Outside, exposed to UV a lot?
Are you diligent with your sun protection? So, there’re a lot of reasons.

There’re also internal reasons: hormones, in the case of birth control pills or menopause. Things like that, can stimulate that the brown spots come out in different ways.

For some people, it’s more the tiny pigment spots on the cheekbones, the nose, which we call “freckles”, for others it’s really bigger, deeper, a bit more unsightly, but all of this is treatable. We need three really important items, three important steps to treat them: lighteners, pigment blockers, and protectors.

Step 1: Lightening

My first and most important action is obviously to lighten the skin and the champion that I named for that is: vitamin C. Why? Because it has a lightening effect, you’ll see a difference in a few days.

Your skin and complexion will be more radiant, the brown spots will fade because it has an immediate effect on the surface of the skin and moreover, it won’t have an irritating or photosensitizing effect on the skin. Great bonus for vitamin C: it’s anti-aging, antioxidant and will work on the firmness of your skin.
I chose my favorites, so here is the Guinot anti-dark spots serum that addresses skins that are starting to have brown spots and want to do a fast (14 days) lightening treatment. Esthederm Intensive Vitamin C Cream which is a daily action. It has to be apply every morning, is intended for all skin types. The Collection Vie Vitamin C serum, obviously as your first step, to be used every morning for a lighetning effect.

Step 2: Re-educate

My second essential action is to have a pigment blocker or an ingredient that re-educate the function of my pigments in the skin. Let me explain: when we have pigment spots, there’re brown spots but most of the time, there’re also white spots. This means that your skin cells that produce pigments are a bit “unbalanced” and they produce too much or not enough and in different skin areas. What we want, is to avoid brown spots, obviously, but we also want to have an even complexion and for this, there’re very specific products that work very well.

Here, I have the Esthe-White serum from Esthederm. It restores the basic functions of the pigments cells and you also have the Photo Regul which is a sun protection but also a pigment re-educator for the skin.
Of course, now you’re going to tell me: “you have a serum in the first step and you have a serum in the second step?!” That’s okay, you can use a brightening serum in the morning and a serum that re-educate the skin in the evening. All of these, the skin will store it and it will learn to react with it and stabilized itself.

Step 3: Protecting

Third essential action: the skin must be protected, from the sun’s rays but you also have to protect it from other stimulants that have an effect on the pigment spots. Pigment spots are stimulated by UV rays and also by infrared, by inflammation, by pollution, by hormones. So, we want to work on different aspects.

In all of these product, we have sun protection who have several actions to protect us well.
Here I have some of them. I was talking to you earlier about the Photo Regul, which is a protection called 360. It protects against infrared, blue light, pollution, UV, obviously, but will re-educate skin at the same time, and has a pigment blocker. Our Esthederm Sun Expert who really treats spots.
Fade dark spots and also protect skin at the same time from everything I just named.

Our Coola 50 protection which is also a 360 degree protection with higher SPF for everyone who like to do outdoor activities and also like really light, silky, less creamy textures compare to our Esthederm creams. Then here is one of my favorite because of its texture: Coola 30 SPF who is really named 360 because it’s a protection cream that you can put on top of everything. That you’re not going to feel. It’s really a very light texture, even oily skins that tends to get acne will be able to use it without any problem, and it really protects from everything: infrared, blue light from computers. You’re at home, you’re  working, you’re wearing it, under halogens as well. It stabilizes pigments. At the same time, it’s a perfect UV protection for sports and for every activities.

And to prevent and avoid dark spots, we can’t tell you enough: PROTECT YOUR SKIN! Find all our the protections and sunscreen HERE.
