Why do we have acne?

Acne breakouts start inside your pores. Your pores produce an oil called sebum to protect and moisturize your skin. But without the right dailt regimen, that sebum can lead to acne.
Acne starts when your skin’s sebum production is pushed into overdrive. Cleansing away that excess oil is crucial in preventing acne. If you don’t, that oil can combine with dead skin cells to form a sticky mass that plugs the pores.
Once the pores is clogged, sebum continues to build up inside. This oil-rich environment causes propinibacterium acnes, p. acnes (a bacteria that lives on your skin),
to multiply inside the blocked pore. In response, your body sends white blood cells to attack the bacteria. In result is an inflamed, painful area more commonly referred to as a pimple-an acne breakout.

What makes your skin produce too much sebum?

One culprit is a change in hormones. That’s why adolescents, with their hormones in flux, get acne so often. But teenagers aren’t the only ones susceptible to hormone changes. High stress is another common cause. And some people are simply genetically predisposed to excess sebum production.

How do hormones lead to acne breakouts?

Blame it on androgen. It’s a hormone that your body makes more of in certain circumstances-such as during puberty, when you experience stress, or even during the monthly female cycle. Androgens stimulate your skin sebaceous glands. More androgens in your body means sebum produced by your skin, which leads to acne.

Can food trigger acne formation?

Yes- at least according to emerging research. Foods with a high glycemic index (GI) are being linked to acne formation. That means white bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes might be increasing your risk of a breakout. As for chocolat and greasy foods? There is very little evidence that they lead to acne.

3 Triggers: Pushing oil production into overdrive.
The root cause of acne is excess sebum.
Three main factors accelerate this oil production:
– Stress
– Hormone changes
– Foods with high glycemic index

So, how do you prevent acne?

Acne starts when your pores get clogged. To prevent acne, you need to keep your skin clear of excess oil and dead skin cells that clog your pores and create the environment p. acnes needs in order to grow and thrive. To do this, a good skin care routine is important. Professional peelings and skin cleansing are highly recommended as well as a proper home routine.

The right daily product regimen is the key. Clarity is designed from the ground up to prevent and fight acne in every stage of its development. Spend just a few refreshing minutes twice a day with these products-on your face, shoulders, and back-and you can enjoy clearer, calmer skin that’s less prone to acne breakouts.

Salicylic acid keeps your skin free of debris. Salicylic acid is one of two compounds recognized by the FDA and Health Canada for the treatment of acne. It’s gentle on your skin but a tough acne fighter. Salicylic acid helps keep your skin free of dead skin cells and oil buildup. As a result, yours pores stay unclogged-just what normal, healthy skin needs to stay clear of acne breakouts.

Why Salicylic Acid and Not Benzoyl Peroxide?

We chose salicylic acid over benzoyl peroxide, another FDA and Health Canada-recognized antiacne ingredient, fights the p. acnes bacteria itself.
But benzoyl peroxide doesn’t increase your resistance to the bacteria, and it doesn’t keep your pores clear of debris. And its possible side effects include excessive drying of the skin,
mild irritations, dermatitis, allergic reactions, and the bleaching of clothing.

7 Simple habits to help you avoid acne.

1- Reduce foods with a high glycemic index from your daily diet
2- Change your pillowcase every few days.
3- Opt for loose-fitting clothing that doesn’t rub and irritate your skin during exercise.
4- Keep yours hands away from your face. They’re covered with pore-clogging oil.
5- Wash your face with clean little facecloth and no scrubbing.
6- Dab your face dry with a clean towel instead of wiping it.
7- Use an acne prevention system that keeps your skin and pores clear of excess oil and debris.
