Nutrition Consultant Tania, here for your Weight Loss Journey

In addition to beauty treatments and hairstyling, EQlib offers its clients the chance to benefit from a personalized nutrition program. To help them take charge of their diet, the sparkling Tania Joseph, an experienced nutrition consultant, accompanies people towards a greater well-being in their plate.

From Accounting to Nutrition Consultant: a Happy Accident

During her studies in business administration and accounting, Tania comes across an ad in the newspaper: receptionist wanted. Since she was looking for a part-time job, she responded. That’s how she ended up working at EQlib, 11 years ago. One day, a colleague, who was about to go on vacation for a month, asks her to follow up with her nutrition clients during her absence. Surprise, surprise: when she returned, the clients wanted to keep on following up with Tania!

She was hooked, so she enrolled in the Ideal Protein training program and then founded her own program, My Life, My Way, to positively inspire people to take charge of their lives while not giving up their favourite treats. “I’m a real foodie, I love food. I found that for many people, there was a disconnect between paying attention to what they eat and enjoying their food. The two can honestly go together!”

Weight, Skin, Concentration and Energy Problems: Nutrition to the Rescue

Being mindful of what you eat isn’t just about losing weight. Although this is a common reason for consultation, Tania gets referrals from clients to help with skin issues, focus and lack of energy. “Often, we don’t know that our problem may stem from a dietary deficiency, a lack of a certain nutrient. I also get people who give a lot as part of their job, such as psychologists and medical professionals, who need to re-energize.” People who work out a lot also benefit from her advice. These should consider the energy intake of what they ingest versus what they expend. Protein, carbohydrate and fat ratios should be considered in their diet to ensure a good balance.

Her philosophy: Your tastes, your pleasure, your shape.

“I develop personalized food guides based on my clients’ preferences. They tell me what they like to eat, and I show them how they can continue to eat it and still reach their goals.”

Making small changes, one at a time, is a recipe for success for the nutrition professional. “It’s encouraging to see results just by changing one thing about your habits.” It’s better to adapt your habits than to adopt drastic methods that you may abandon. “For example, if someone tells me they love cookies, I’ll say, “Did you know you could find equally good cookies that are healthier for you?” The goal isn’t to stop eating them, but rather to make the right choices to meet your goals.”

Upcoming Projects to Feed Yourself Better

Tania’s head is full of projects. Among other things, a grocery store accompaniment service will be launched soon. “I want to go on site to guide my clients as they stock their pantry. We often make choices by default and I want to help them identify the right things to consider before buying.”

EQlib: a Complete Beauty Center where It Is Pleasant to Work… and Be Treated!

Tania likens EQlib’s unique care system to a domino effect. “Everyone works so well together. A large portion of our clientele is loyal and comes to spend the day with us: nutrition consultation with me to start, then pedicure-manicure with Elizabeth, facial with Helene then hair with Jenny and Dominic to wrap up. I call it my perfect song, it’s like a melody!”

There is never a day that Tania doesn’t feel like showing up to work. “Sometimes people joke to me that I practically live here. I think the only thing I don’t do here is sleep! I never feel heavy at work, I never look forward to finishing my day and going home. I can’t see myself working anywhere else.”
