By restricting carbohydrate (sugar) and fat intake, the Weight Loss Phase is designed to optimize fat loss through ketosis (a safe and natural state in which the body uses stored fat as energy source to consume). During your process of loosing weight,You’ll remain in Phase 1 until you have reached your weight loss goal or until your certified technician recommend you to jump into phase 2, the transition one.

Following weight loss, the body fights to regain the lost security fat energy. This “energy gap” (fat = energy), makes our brain make us feel that we want more calories than we need, it makes us feel hungry. It is important during this period to identify whether the feeling of hunger is real or just the effect that the body wants to regain its energy security. The goal of the phase 2, Stabilization, is about narrowing this gap by adjusting the intake of protein/fat/carbs to moderate hunger sensation, promote greater satiety and maintain weight loss. Over that course, you’ll have follow-up sessions for at least two months to enable to monitor carbohydrate and fat reintroduction and control your weight.

For the first 12 months following Stabilization phase, you’ll always be followed and supported with a multitude of tips, ex: recipes, tricks adapted to your lifestyle, etc, with your technician. It’s recommended to “check in” once a week with your technician for the first month of the Maintenance phase, once every second week during 2nd and 3th month and once a month after. In addition, you will also have the option to stay connected to your technician through the Ideal Protein app and the Wi-Fi Ideal Smart scale. It’s strongly recommended, for all of those in Maintenance phase to commit of two semi-annual “tune-ups” with your technician.

Consultation fees vary from clinic to clinic depending on the additional services they offer.
Can vegetarians or vegans follow the Protocol?
The Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol is perfectly adapted for vegetarians. The eggs, fish or tofu are integrated during their evening meal for their whole protein. Also, to really adapt the protocol, vegetarians can have 2 Ideal Protein foods for dinner in replacement of their whole protein. Ensure you review the ingredient list on all boxes before purchasing them. Strict vegans, who do not consume any animal proteins and animal by-products, such as dairy products, honey and so on, do not qualify to follow the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol due to the many dietary restrictions involve in this diet.
